Lauren went to the doctor today for her 4 month checkup. She is officially 11.1 lbs and 25 1/4 in., which puts her in the 6% for weight and 81% for height. Lauren is growing and developing normally, and the doctor did comment that she had a sociable smile. She did receive some vaccinations at this appointment, but was a trooper. She only cried for a minute and then was her normal happy self. The doctor said we could start rice cereal and baby food vegetables. The doctor also said that she should start taking naps on her own without being rocked to sleep during the day, but we could keep our routine of rocking her to sleep at night since she does sleep through the night. The doctor did mention that her sleeping through the night may stop and we may want to consider letting her fall asleep on her own at that point. My motto is "If it isn't broke, don't fix it", so we will deal with changing our night routine when her sleeping through the night becomes a problem. The doctor asked us to do more tummy time with her and that we should try to do it once a day. To me, all of this means that my little baby is growing up everyday, and I am not sure if I am quite ready for it.
