Today is Lauren’s 2nd birthday! How these past 2 years have gone by so quickly.
We have been doing a lot to help Lauren gear up to celebrate her birthday.
Last weekend, Lauren and I flew to Mobile to celebrate her birthday with her grandparents, aunt, great grandparents, great aunts & uncles, 2nd cousins, and other extended family. With Ryan’s and my family both being from Mobile, it was a packed house at Mimi’s last Saturday. Lauren had a great time playing with everyone and we appreciate Lauren’s birthday gifts.
Last night, we asked Lauren, “Whose birthday will be tomorrow?” She grinned really big and said “ME!” When asked how old she will be, she holds up 2 fingers and says, “Two”. (Though, sometimes she gets confused and says “three”.) We also had to call Mimi & Grandpa, and Grandmommie, to tell them it was going to be her birthday and to sing to them the ABC song. Mimi sang to Lauren the “Happy Birthday” song, which quickly became a hot tune request at our house the rest of the evening.
This morning, Ryan dropped Lauren off at school and then went to Publix to get Jell-O cups, pudding cups, and birthday hats for Lauren’s class, and then returned to drop the goodies off at school. (Why Jell-O and pudding cups??? Well, we go to a nut-free school and there is a child in her class that is allergic to milk! – Nut Free means no peanut products, not that there aren’t plenty of little nuts running around between the ages of 1 – 4 yrs. Lauren must be the Queen NUT!) Lauren and her classmates enjoyed the birthday treats during their snack time.
Tomorrow, Lauren’s GA family and close friends will gather at McDonalds for her birthday dinner. She is very excited that Tyler, Bryce, Reed, Emilee, Jack, Natalie, and Riley will be joining her at McDonalds. She has been talking about it for days!
Pictures will follow.
